Maltese athletes won the first medals in athletics yesterday as the Games continued.
The programme at the Matthew Micallef St John track at Marsa saw Ylenia Pace finishing third in the girls 800m to win the bronze medal, while the relay team, consisting of Andrea Caruana, Andrea Migneco, Samuel Attard and Daniel Saliba also won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400m relay for boys.

Closing Ceremony
The Games will come to an end with a ceremony that will be held at the Oracle Hall of the Dolmen Hotel in Bugibba.
It starts at 8.30pm. During the event, the last honours, as well as the Fair Play trophy, will also be presented to the winners. Lies Jansen and Louis Borg, vice presidents of the FISEC international committee, will address those present.
Later Bro. Martin Borg fsc, chairman of FISEC Malta, will present the official flag to the Hungarian delegation. It will be that country’s city Kechkemet that will stage the Games next year.
